Post Office workers to strike for five days in run-up to Christmas

It was announced yesterday that Post Office workers are to go on strike in the run-up to Christmas.

The strikes will commence Monday 19th December and include Christmas Eve.

It will mostly involve thousands of workers from Crown Post Offices, these are the larger branches located in High Streets.

Post office have said that despite the walkout at least 97% of it’s 11,600 branches will not be involved and it will be business as usual.

A Royal Mail spokesperson said: “If any industrial action takes place in Post Office Ltd, Royal Mail will be operating as normal. We expect there to be no or little effect on the services we provide to our customers.”
