Ashcroft Mailing Solutions Limited is Turning 20!
On Friday 13th July 2018, will be celebrating our 20th Birthday!
To mark this momentous occasion we would like start by saying a huge THANK YOU to all of our past, present and future customers as without you we wouldn’t be where we are today!
Secondly we would like to give a special mention to all of our staff members. Dot, Rachel, Sally, Simon and Don have all been with us for over 10 years and have all worked tirelessly to provide our past and present clients with a fantastic customer service over the years. In 2014 we introduced Jack and Deanna to strengthen our team and what valuable assets they have turned out be! So a massive THANK YOU to you all, for your wonderful work ethic and enthusiasm.
Our 20 year history!
The company was originally founded our Managing Director George Carrington in 1998 and we have since grown to become one of the largest Royal Mail approved suppliers and maintainers of franking machines in the country.
George has been working within the franking machine industry since November 1971, originally working as a sales man for Pitney Bowes. He then went on to progress through the ranks becoming team leader and then on to area manager, winning many awards for him and his team.
After working for Pitney Bowes for many years, George saw the demand for companies wishing to use franking machines increase and in 1991 decided to branch out on his own and bought into the Frama franchise, working under the name of Digital Mailing Solutions Ltd. In 1998 the decision was made to re-brand the company and it officially became Ashcroft Mailing Solutions Ltd.
We worked alongside Frama for 13 years, however due to technology advancing, in 2006 the decision was made to change our supplier and we partnered with Pitney Bowes who were able to offer a more extensive range of equipment and a better pricing structure. Since then, our customer base has increased dramatically, which meant a bigger workforce was needed and a bigger office. So in 2008, we moved in to our new premises at Kinwarton House in Alcester.
Despite the progression of emails and social media, the demand for franking machines has remained high and as technology has advanced so has franking, with the introduction of Mailmark in 2014, as well as the advancement of digital machines which are now LAN enabled. This has made it possible for us to build an extensive and ever growing list of customers, winning many major contracts when up against well-known manufacturers and other independent dealers.
As well as franking machines, we also supply folder inserters, letter openers and consumables. More recently we have extended the business by offering photocopiers and print solutions to our customers and have recently partnered with Bluefish Office Supplies to offer all of our customers a one stop shop for all of their office supplies.

Reflecting on the past 20 years George says “I am privileged to have one of the best teams anybody could wish to work with, their loyalty and hard work has made the company what it is today and this coupled up with some of the best customers around makes for a very good combination. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for Ashcroft as I believe there could be some very exciting times ahead!”
